8 Weird Things You Can Eat at the Houston Rodeo
We’re going to the Houston Rodeo tomorrow (which we’re very excited about) and we’ve been told that the food there is out of this world. If you don’t know much about the Houston Livestock Rodeo, the show itself features championship rodeo action, livestock competitions, concerts, a carnival, pig racing, barbecue and the Rodeo Uncorked! As well as an International Wine Competition, and livestock auctions. Traditional trail rides, which start in different areas of Texas and end in Houston, precede the Rodeo events. The City of Houston celebrates this event with Go Texan Day, where residents are encouraged to dress in western wear the Friday before the rodeo begins.
We’ve also been told that there’s Mutton Bustin’ where very small children (wearing helmets at least) are put on muttons and have to try not to fall… here’s a link for your own amusement.
But since food is clearly our common interest, here are 8 crazy snacks that are served before the show!
Deep Fried Cookie Dough
America seems to be obsessed with cookie dough as well as with fried food so it does make sense that this combo would make the cut. Funnily enough, everyone seems to be recommending this snack so we guess we’ll have to give it a go!
We’ve already tried something similar in the past. Whilst it wasn’t as bad as it looked, it still wasn’t for us… so we’ll pass.
Bum’s Blue Ribbon Pulled Pork Sundae
While it may look like a Sundae, this dish is actually all savoury with mashed potatoes, pulled pork and a BBQ sauce…. Phewph!
Pepperoni Pizza on a Stick
Because Pizza is already so hard to eat….
Cheezy Gringo Potato, or as we call it Mac & Cheese Jacket Potato
This personally looks delicious !
Scorpion Topped pizza
Insects are clearly becoming a trend. Would you eat this?
Deep Fried Bacon Nutella Pickle
